The first year begins at Kawakado Campus located 4 km away
from the main campus of Moro. Subjects for the 1st year are Structure
and Function of Human Body-1, Cell Biology-1, Fundamentals of
Medicine, and Road to a Good Physician-1. In Structure and Function
of Human Body-1, students learn the basic structure of the human
body and function according to its organs and systems. In Cell
Biology-1 students learn structure and function of the cell which
is the basic unit of the human body. Fundamentals of Medical
Science are comprised by English, Physics for Medicine, Chemistry
for Medicine, and Experiments of Basic Science. Emphasized also
is learning the informatics utilizing the Local Area Network
cabled with the School.
The Road to a Good Physician continues stepwise from 1st to 4th
year. In Road to a Good Physician-1, representing an Introduction
to Medicine, students learn fundamental subjects necessary for
developing refined human quality with proper social bearings.
In Introduction to Clinical Medicine, students go through Early
Clinical Experiences on site in small groups in order to enhance
motivation for learning medicine. In PBL and Medical Seminar,
students in small groups engage in such activities as discussion
and presentation on issues of medical science and medical practice.
Elective/Required Subjects including cultural/social science
and selected fields of natural science are for students to enrich
themselves broadly in culture.
Beginning from the 2nd year, students proceed to Structure and
Function of Human Body-2 for studying the structure and function
of human body in order to attain the foundation of the science
of clinical medicine. They also begin Practices on Structures
and Functions and Practice on Cell Biology-2. Further, in the
latter half of the 2nd year, lectures and laboratories start
on Fundamentals of Diseases (Introduction to Pathology and Introduction
to Pharmacology).
In Road to a Good Physician-2, students take Units in Medical
English in addition to Introduction to Medicine/PBL and Elective/Required
Units as described earlier. Furthermore, Introduction to Clinics
offers Apprenticeship in the Nursing Care and Preparatory Lessons
for Early Exposure. |
