This facility occupies
a major part of the 1st floor of this Institute and can
accommodate about 6,000 SPF (Specific Pathogen Free) mice which are
required for studying
gene functions in vivo. By targeting specific genes spacio-temporarily,
researchers will be able to understand the function of the gene in
the body and its role during development, differentiation and disease
Transgenic animals are also created and studied in this facility. Disease model mice are also preserved here.
