SAITAMA MEDICAL UNIVERSITY RESEARCH CENTER FOR GENOMIC MEDICINE
Message from the Director

Research Center for Genomic Medicine was established in 2001 at Hidaka campus of Saitama Medical University, with an aim of utilizing tremendous amount of genomic sequence data in the field of medical research.

The center is well-equipped with state of the art technologies such as next-generation-sequencing.

The center has reported a number of conspicuous research results so far. Starting from April 2020, 5 divisions are integrated into 2 divisions (Division of Biomedical Sciences and Division of Systems Medicine & Gene Therapy), swearing that we will do our best to contribute to the development of future medicine and biomedical sciences with our original research outcomes.

The importance of genomic medicine is increasing in the field of basic medical sciences as well as in clinical areas such as cancer genomics and rare and intractable diseases. We earnestly hope that by leveraging the talent nurtured at our medical center, along with our facilities and equipment, we can promote the creation of new knowledge, the generation of value, and the acceleration of its implementation in society.

We sincerely appreciate your continued guidance and support in our endeavors.
